Canoo, the California-based startup with a focus on subscription-based vehicles, is finally here announced prices for his electric truck and two vans. Pre-orders are also open to any, requiring a $ 1
The companies truck debuted back in March and the delivery van debuted last year. Prices for the ‘lifestyle’ electric van start at $ 34,750 and go all the way up to $ 49,950, while the base van model starts at $ 33,000. Canoo has not yet announced prices for the pick-up.
Each of the three electric vehicles uses the same modular platform that Canoo has been grinding for years. The largest configuration can reach about 250 miles with an 80kWh battery pack. The van is available in four unique equipment options, such as ‘adventure’, which increase the car’s ground clearance and have ‘a more muscular profile’.
Canoo was founded in 2017 by a split-off group of engineers and executives from Faraday Future. First known as Evelozcity, the company tried to license its platform to other car manufacturers. Canoo signed a deal with Hyundai allowing vehicles to be built on the platform last year and Hyundai provided with selected engineering. Canoo also held talks with Apple for the same purpose.
While Canoo originally only wanted to offer the van as a subscription, that no longer seems to be the case. The company has since merged, went public and its leadership has been revised. Now Tony Aquila has been the executive chairman and CEO since one of the founders recently resigned. Aquila has shifted the company’s focus from the subscription model to the commercial EV market. The deal with Hyundai is also no longer active.
Do you want one of these cool vehicles for yourself? All you need to do is make a $ 100 deposit on Canoo’s site.
