Most new printers have a Wi-Fi connection, and many of these are compatible with Google Cloud Print. Chrome OS is, of course, compatible with Google’s own online printing service. The first thing to do is start up your home printer, connect it to the Internet and link the device to Google Cloud Print. This process is different for every printer, so you’ll need to do some research to find out yours.

Boot your laptop and get ready to print via Chromebook. After connecting your printer to the internet, click on your Google account logo or photo in Chrome and select Settingsthen select Advanced. Go to it Printers option, then select Printers.

You should see a section named Add printers. Click on it and you should see a list of printers. If you see your printer in that list, select Add. Your printer is now connected to your Chromebook.

Most newer Chromebooks now have the Google Play Store and its numerous applications. Sometimes all a printer needs to run is the official Android app, which is at your disposal if your Chromebook has access to the Play Store. This makes it easy to print from a Chromebook without getting confused. You can use these apps to set up the printer, and some even offer editing options. This is probably the easiest way to print from a Chromebook.

If for some reason your printer is not listed in the Add printers section, don’t worry. You can still manually add and print your device from a Chromebook.

In the Printers section, click on it Add manually choice. Then type the name of the printer, IP address, protocol (usually the supported connection protocol is IPP) and queue (usually the queue is ipp / print). Click Add when all that information has been entered.

A window should appear asking you to select your printer manufacturer and model. When you find it, click Add. If it doesn’t appear, check your printer’s information for the “printer language” or “emulation”, then go back to the list and General option that looks the same. You may need to upload your printer driver. If so, click on it Leaves option to upload it.
