Lost in a pile of open Mozilla Firefox windows and tabs? With this quick tip, you can search through all of your open Firefox tabs and find what you’re looking for. Here’s how.
First, open a Firefox window on Windows, Mac or Linux ̵
To enter tab search mode with a shortcut character, focus on the address bar, type% (a percent sign) and press the spacebar once.
To open tab search mode with your mouse, click once on the Firefox address bar. At the bottom of the menu that appears, look for the “Search this time with” section and click the tab icon (which looks like a blue-green tab or button).
You are now in tab search mode and you will see a small box that says “Tabs” at the far left of the address bar. Enter the term or terms you want to search for. You will immediately see matching results from all your open Firefox tabs just below the address bar in a menu.
Click on the result you would like to see, and you will be immediately taken to that tab in whatever Firefox window is appropriate.
Repeat this as many times as you want to search through as many Firefox tabs as there are open. You will never get lost in the forest of tabs again!
