Redmi, the signature of the Chinese answering machine Xiaomi, will hold a special event in Beijing on March 18 for its latest device, Redmi 7. Set as the manufacturer's next budget-friendly model for the Chinese market, the Redmi 7 specifications have appeared on The Geekbench database, which gives an early look at what to expect.
While Redmi 7's reference listing confirms a number of expected and previously disclosed specifications, the exact processor still used is a mystery, unfortunately. Geekbench lists the Android headset as using Qualcomm's "msm8953" chip, which would correspond to Snapdragon 625. Earlier leaks have shown that Redmi 7 would contain the slightly more powerful Snapdragon 632, and there is a chance that may be correct as we have seen Geekbench mix up the chips before, as with the Motorola G7 note.
