Ready to feel nostalgic? If you have purchased a new MacBook ($ 370 from Amazon) in recent years, you may have noticed how quiet it turns on. It's not because of some great new fans or hardware inside ̵
But if you miss the sound, there is an easy way to turn it on again.
Last week, Twitter user @Chaysegr posted a short video showing his MacBook Pro ($ 1,012 for Amazon) while playing the startup sound while it was turned on.
Inspired by the post, Mr. discovered Macintosh that turning on the startup sound is only a quick change in system settings.
To return the bell to your Mac, open the Terminal app on your computer. Start the Spotlight feature of the Mac by simultaneously pressing Command and the space bar . Type "Terminal" and then press Return .
Once Terminal is loaded, type or paste the following command:
sudo nvram StartupMute =% 00
Press Return when it is entered.
You will then be prompted to enter your user password (this is the same password that you use to log in to your Mac). You see nothing as you type. That is natural. Press Back after entering your password.
Now restart your Mac and listen. Nice is not it?
