Microsoft Edge Extensions can add a variety of new features that make Edge even more useful. But sometimes you may have installed too many or don’t need any more. In this case, it is easy to disable or delete them. Here’s how.
First, open Edge. Click the ellipses button (three dots) in any window and select “Extensions”
In the “Extensions” tab, you will see a list of all the Edge extensions you have installed.
Find the entry for the extension you want to remove or disable. To temporarily disable the extension (which will deactivate the extension but keep it installed), flip the toggle next to it to disable it.
(If you later need to re-enable the extension, simply return to the Extensions tab and toggle the switch to the “on” position.)
If you want to permanently remove the extension, click the “Remove” button just below the extension description. This will completely remove the extension.
After clicking “Delete”, a confirmation popup will appear. Click on “Delete” again.
The extension will be completely removed and you will see a pop-up message ‘Extension removed’. You can ignore or ignore with the “X” button.
Alternatively, you can quickly remove an extension from Edge when you see its icon in the toolbar. Right-click on the icon and select “Remove from Microsoft Edge” from the pop-up menu.
Then click the “Remove” button in the confirmation popup and the extension will be removed.
If you ever need to reinstall it, you should visit the Edge extensions category in the Microsoft Store, which you can also access from the Extensions tab. Have fun browsing!
