If your Windows 10 PC is running slow or is working abnormally, one of the most surefire ways to solve the problem is to perform a factory reset. This is also recommended if you are selling your computer. Here's how.
Back up your files before starting a factory reset. Otherwise, some important data may be irretrievably lost.
When you're ready to factory reset your Windows 1
The Settings window now appears. Here select the option "Update and security" at the bottom of the window.
A list of updates and Security options now appear in the left pane. Select "Restore" here.
You are now in the recovery window. Read the description under "Reset this PC" carefully and then select the "Get started" button.
Once selected, the "Reset this PC" window appears. . You have two options to choose from:
- Save My Files: This option saves all your personal files while removing installed apps and system settings.
- Delete Everything: This will completely erase your Windows 10 PC.
Choose the option that suits you best.
In the next window, you will see a message that shows what will happen when you reset your computer. This message will be different depending on the method you chose in the previous step.
When you're done, select the "Reset" button.
Your Windows 10 PC will now start to factory reset. This can take a few minutes, so be patient. When the process is complete, your computer will restart.
