Ring in the holidays with Nest Hello – Review Geek’s festive chime options

7;re like me and have already hung the decorations, you’ll be happy to hear that the Nest Hello doorbells have joined in and added new ringtones to match the season. Best of all, they are free!

The Nest Hello themes are becoming an annual tradition, and Google introduced this year’s options over Halloween. But of course you don’t want spooky sounds anymore, so the themes have just been revamped.

Now when you open the Nest app, you should see a prompt to update your ringtones. If not, you can follow How-To Geek’s handy guide to get to the call settings. Once you are in the right place, you can choose from Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Winter and New Year’s Eve. Each sends a different set of sounds to the Nest Hello doorbell for visitors to hear and any smart Google displays you have connected to your smart home setup.

You don’t have to use a festive theme, of course. If the Scrooge is strong in you, you can stick with the basic ding-dong sound. Bah nonsense. You will of course need a Nest Hello video doorbell to participate. And the themes disappear after the holidays. So enjoy it while it lasts.
