It’s the middle of winter, so there’s only one thing to do: grab some blankets, pop some popcorn, and binge-watch classic horror movies. Universal Pictures will bring seven of its most beloved classic horror movies to the big, um, YouTube screen for a week on January 15, and they̵
The films will be played on Universal’s Fear: The Home of Horror YouTube channel. Be the first Dracula and The mummy, which will be available at 3:00 p.m. ET on the 15th. Frankenstein and of course Bride of Frankenstein follows the next day, and The invisible man, Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, and The Wolfman arrive shortly afterwards on the 17th.
You have a whole week to watch these fun cinema choices for free, but Universal also makes the titles available at a discount if you prefer to own them. Universal isn’t the first studio to offer free movies, either. Last December, 20 James Bond movies were also streamed for free. Between that and new movies like Mulan Releasing at home rather than at the cinema, it’s not unlikely we’ll see more fun movie events like this one in the future.
