If you are not known, Doctor Who: The Edge of Time is a standalone VR game where you control the TARDIS (that’s Tethered Aerial Release Developed in Style), and the Doctor (voiced by Jodie Whittaker) guides you through tasks remotely. Your goal is to prevent a Reality Virus from … well, destroy all of reality – a pretty standard rate for Doctor who.
You can solve puzzles, travel through time and space, and even use the Doctor’s sonic screwdriver to fend off Daleks and Weeping Angles. But now the game is getting a nice update. It adds the 9th and 10th doctor’s versions of the TARDIS interior.
The update is linked to it Time Lord Victorious series of stories told on multiple platforms (audio, comics and more) related to the 8th (Paul McGann), 9th and 10th Doctor. However, when you first enter the newly added TARDIS interior, you will see that it is turned off.
You will have to play the game (again if you’ve already finished it) to find special artifacts (another one Time Lord Victorious) to start it up.
The free update is out now for the Oculus Quest and PSVR versions of Doctor Who: The Edge of Time. Unfortunately, Steam users are not getting the new shiny TARDIS interior for now.
