You can go to LEGO for cars, art and replica game systems, but what about something closer to nature? The new LEGO Botanical Collection is just the answer to that question. It starts with two sets, the previously rumored Bonsai Tree and Flower Bouquet. Both go for $ 50 when they come out on January 1
We’ve reviewed the new sets before, but now they’re official and we know more about them. The bonsai tree contains a stand, a tree container, “soil” pieces and both green and pink leaves. LEGO famously reuses bricks in new and interesting ways, and it’s no different here. The tree trunk consists of pieces used for limbs in the Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse Buildable Characters set. The company took the black arms and colored them brown. And look closely at the pink cherry blossom leaves and you will see pink frogs.
The Bonsai set comes with a total of 878 pieces, and the slatted wooden stand even uses pieces of tape to keep it from slipping. You can buy it for $ 50 starting January 1, 2021.
The Flower Bouquet set includes everything you need to build three roses, two snapdragons, a lavender sprig, an aster, two common daisies and a California poppy. You can mix and match however you want, and the stem lengths are adjustable so you can fit them on your vase. However, you must deliver the vase.
Like the Bonsai, LEGO reuses pieces in new and interesting ways. Pterodactyl wings and car hoods become petals and so on. The size of the flowers depends on how you set them up, but the snapdragon stands 35 cm high when attached to the longest stem. Like the bonsai, the flower bouquet costs $ 50 and can be purchased on January 1, 2021.
