Purchasing budget items can always be a mess – you never know how many corners they cut to offer such a low price. However, Redragon aims to provide a mouse that has all the functions you want without breaking the bank.

This is what we like

  • High adjustment
  • Comfortable to use
  • Color-accurate RGB lighting

And what we don't

  • May be too small for some users
  • software can be difficult to understand

I bought the Redragon M711 Cobra earlier this year when I was looking for a cheap replacement for my previous mouse. I just wanted a mouse that works; I didn't care to get a top product. So when the M711 arrived at my door, I was impressed by the number of options it has.

Tried and tested

The M711 uses the popular & # 39; shooter & # 39; style mouse design. It is fairly slim (5 x 2.6 inches) and fairly short (1.6 inches), so anyone who prefers larger mice may find it uncomfortable to use. The mouse has a curved, soft-feeling top that feels pleasant. The lower part of the mouse is usually made of smooth, hard plastic with slightly textured sides, which adds a little grip to the mouse and a premium feeling that you would not expect at this price level.

With a weight of 7.2 grams, the M711 is easy to move and ideal for games that require fast movements. The included USB cable is braided and feels durable. Because cables cannot usually be replaced, a high-quality cable supplied always provides some peace of mind.

Two thumb buttons are located on the left side of the mouse. The thumb button on the front is made of the same material as the top of the mouse, while the thumb button on the back is made of structured plastic. This helps to identify which button you press without having to look down.

Three plastic buttons on the top of the mouse are used to switch between lighting and DPI profiles. The scroll wheel has a rubber finish and scrolls in steps, making it difficult to accidentally scroll further than intended – great for games with hot bars.

Fully recommended

As mentioned earlier, the M711 has many additional features that you can tune on the Redragon website. Really, any kind of programming software is a luxury for this price, so one that is so profound as this is especially appreciated.

The program provides complete reprogramming of each button on the mouse to perform a wide range of actions. Whether you want the scroll wheel to act as a pause / play shortcut or the thumb button to execute a refined macro, you can make these changes here. You can also fully control the DPI with a range of up to 10,000, which is frankly too high for most people, but having the option is still nice.

The M711 has full RGB lighting that you can also adjust, but it is limited. Only three of the seven available light effects give you full control over the colors. Effects with multiple colors cannot be changed at all, which can be frustrating if you want to use them, but are not a fan of the standard rainbow pattern.

 Redragon Software

The program itself can be a bit difficult to use due to the striking design. Once you have learned your way, however, it becomes a valuable tool for the mouse.

Bang for Your Buck

With its abundant customization options and comfortable design, the M711 feels like a mouse worth more than $ 20. It has served me well over the past six months and shows no signs of dying quickly. I can safely say that this is the best budget game accessory I have ever used.
