There is a faster way to check for system updates on your Pixel «Android :: Gadget Hacks

Rapid and regular system updates are a big part of the Pixel's identity – we're even getting quarterly feature drops now. But not all devices receive these all-important updates at the same time due to Google's phased rollout system. If you want to get the update right away, there is a way to check manually without having to search Settings every time.

Open your app drawer, find the "Settings" app and long press the icon to open a new set of options. Tap the widgets icon in the top right corner (three squares and a diamond), then long press the "Settings" widget icon and drag it to your home screen. A new screen will appear asking which shortcut you want to add. Scroll through the list and click on the "System" option.

A new shortcut is created on your home screen called "System" and as soon as you tap on the new icon, go to "Advanced" then "System Update." It will automatically check for a system update and start the update process as one is available to install. Now you can check for updates right from your home screen without scrolling through your settings menu ̵

1; just three taps and you're done!

You Can Also Long Press A Blank Space On Your Start Screen For The Startup Program you are using, go to "Widgets", find the "Settings" shortcut, and then drag and drop from there. There is always more than one way to do the same when it comes to Android, so there is no wrong way to go about it.
