There is a faster way to open recent files on your iPhone «iOS & iPhone :: Gadgethacks

With the updated Files in iOS 13 app, iPhone users finally have a decent file browser. But as with any file browser, it can easily get busy, making it difficult to find the desired files.

Fortunately, Apple has thought of this and added two simple ways to access your recently used files. The first is with Quick Actions. Press and hold the Files app on your home screen and you'll see the last four newly opened files in a pop-up – just tap on it and you're on the move!

Long press on the app Files (left) versus adding the app Files to the Today view (right).

Alternatively, you can add a widget to the Today view, which provides the same information with just a swipe to the right on the home screen. This method is especially useful if you have hidden the Files app in a folder or have a lot of apps on your iPhone.
