With iOS 13, Apple first introduced system-wide dark mode on the iPhone and there are several ways to activate it. You can use the brightness slider to change the theme, have Siri do it for you, or customize it directly from the Settings app. But there is one way that is faster than all the others, so you can switch from light to dark in no time.
You see, Apple has quietly created a tile in the Control Center for dark mode, which means you can switch themes with just a quick swipe and tap. To set it up, just go to Settings -> Control Center -> Customize Controls and then tap the (+) next to Dark Mode. Now, the next time you open the Control Center, you will see the new tile next to your other options. Tap it to switch between dark and light mode at any time.
As mentioned earlier, there are many ways to activate dark mode to turn on. But you might be wondering how Siri isn't faster when you just need to press the side or home button or say "Hey Siri" and then ask to "turn on dark mode" or " light mode ". We timed it and it took Siri almost four seconds to come in, while we could swipe and tap in Control Center in two seconds.
The "Dark Mode" tile is the fastest for everyday use, but if you're someone who doesn't want to think about switching between light and dark mode manually, you can let iOS do all the work for you with a fixed scheme.
