Called the Kellogg’s Bowl Bot, the machine allows users to pour a regular bowl of cereal or mix a few varieties together. The machine can add luxurious toppings such as fruits and nuts for those who like a little extra. It can also offer pre-determined grain blends for those indecisive, such as “Hawaii 5-0,” which combines Frosted Mini-Wheats and Bear Naked Fit Triple Berry Granola with sweet notes like coconut and pineapple. We here at Review Geek all think that’s a great idea, especially our editor-in-chief, Cam, who loves cereal.
Using the machine is super easy: you just need to navigate through a few simple menus on the touchscreen interface or, even better, place your order via the accompanying mobile app on your tablet or smartphone. Developed by Chowbotics (and now owned by DoorDash), the machine has 22 unique ingredients for users to choose from. This includes basic options such as yogurt or milk.
The price per bowl starts at $3 for a simple no-frills bowl, but those who are creative (or hungry) may end up spending $6.50 for a more decadent bowl. The only caveat here, though—because the most perfect machine in the world would have one, of course—is that only two were made, and they’re only for college students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Florida State University. Finally a perk of going to college!
