Almost every gamer knows the “Konami Code”
It is appropriate to include the Konami code on a “game controller”, even if it is a children’s toy. The Fisher Price toy serves two purposes. Like many baby learning toys, it introduces shapes, numbers and the alphabet and colors. But it also lets your little tyke ‘play’ right next to you. And finally, you don’t have to worry about drooling on your prized PS5 or Xbox Series X controller. At least your child is drooling. We won’t tell you if you blame your kids for your own drool.

But here’s the fun part: Fisher-Price has also placed an Easter egg for all of your gaming adults. Plug in the Konami code (up, up, down, left, right, left, right B, A) and it will fire a series of sounds reminiscent of Mario spell. It’s nothing big, but an excellent Fisher-Price recording. The box even references the Easter Egg with the words “up, up, down, down, cheat codes unlock surprises, if you know them, try them.” That suggests there may be other codes that work too!
But if that weren’t enough, you can always customize the toy to act like a real game controller. That’s what a YouTuber did, and he showed off some gameplay Super Smash Bros. Melee.
If you already own the Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Game & Learn controller, find it out and give it a try. And if you don’t, you can buy one on Amazon for the price of a few coffees, just for a laugh.
