Introduced in iOS 10, the “Reminders” feature in Apple Photos is designed to give you fun snapshots of events, people, pets, and more from the past few years. However, if you’re not really concerned with these auto-generated slideshows, you probably won’t receive notifications for them either. When you are tired of receiving these unwanted alerts, there is an easy way to disable them.
Blocking notifications for Memories in iOS or iPadOS doesn’t turn off notifications for Photos completely – it just blocks the annoying Memories alerts.
Go to Settings -> Notifications -> Photos -> Reminders. Here you can adjust the notification settings specific to the Memories feature. For example, you can turn off sound notifications or previews. To turn off alerts for it completely, turn off the toggle next to ̵
That said, you can still view automatically-created reminders from the ‘For You’ tab in Photos, if you prefer. While you can reset your reminders and start from scratch or delete them individually one by one, there is currently no way to turn off reminders completely.
