In my experience, most problems with computer hardware and software can be solved by updating the & # 39; s drivers on your computer. Although device management promises to update your & # 39; s driver it rarely achieves good results.
So if device management is not doing its job, you may need to find a software program that finds missing & # 39; s outdated drivers & # 39; s and does this automatically or at a scheduled time.
The good news is that there are many programs & # 39; s that download drivers & # 39; s … and I mean a lot. Here are (some of) the ones that are really worth it.
Driver Booster – Free & Premium
$ 22.95 / Yr $ 1
7.21 / Yr
This driver downloader might be my personal favorite, and you should definitely look into this driver updater if you have something decent free. In my experience it has everything you need to get your laptop / PC back into full upgraded mode. Once the installation is complete, it scans for everything and tells you which & # 39; s drivers need to be updated. You can update or choose all of them at once and choose and execute them one by one. If a restart is required, this will let you know. I initially did not go for the paid version because the free did everything I needed. But then I got the premiere version. For only $ 22.95 per year for 3 PCs (which is cheaper than everyone else on this list), users are given priority over driver updates, improved download speeds and custom driver adjustments to optimize PC gaming (as that is your thing). If you are looking for a solid and powerful experience, Driver Booster 4 is highly recommended.
DriverEasy – Free & $ 29.95 / year
DriverEasy is one of the immensely popular programs for driver downloads, and with good reason. DriverEasy offers a number of different versions, including a free version. The program does exactly what you think it does, keeping your & # 39; s driver up-to-date. That is more or less the free version, but the premium version offers all kinds of options. With the premium version you can back up and restore driver & # 39; s, download all & # 39; s drivers with one click and it even offers a multilingual interface. DriverEasy also claims to be faster than a Windows update, which we unfortunately could not test.
$ 89.95 $ 39.95 / year
It offers the same functions as DriverEasy; it also restores driver & # 39; s and automatic schedule & # 39; s for automatic update checking. DriverNavigator also supports Win 10 systems like the rest, but the biggest drawback we found was the price tag, with $ 89.95 per year, DriverNavigator is considerably more expensive than its competitors. It is currently on sale in for $ 39.95 USD so if you want to get it, this is the time … but if you think you will miss the sale, trust us, this is just a marketinggimmick – $ 39.95 is the price since two years 🙂
DriverNavigator also gives a lot of licenses, so for 1 pc it costs $ 29.95 and the above price of $ 39.95 is for 3 pcs. They also have a drop-down list for 5, 10, and 50 PCs.
UpdateStar driver & # 39; s 9 – $ 29.95 / year
This is one of the lesser known programs for updating driver & # 39; s that exist but it is still worth mentioning. Why? To start, you can download the program for free and perform a scan for missing or outdated drivers. If you want, you can buy their driver downloader for $ 29.95 (for 1 pc) and $ 59.95 (for 3 pc & # 39; s). It works in many ways like the others on our list and is compatible with Win 10 systems, although, in my opinion, the interface is a bit cleaner and easier to follow.
DriverMax – Free & Premium $ 10.39 / year
DriverMax is a great choice to update drivers due to the free option. It does everything a driver downloader should, but it's completely free. You can scan and download new & # 39; s drivers and updates, as well as & # 39; s backup drivers to a compressed file (which is useful when reinstalling Windows). There are some features that are only available to professional members, but the free version should be more than enough for anyone looking for a free alternative to other programs for securely updating drivers. There is a catch to the free version, the software captures all outdated drivers & # 39; s, but you can only download 2 drivers & # 39; s within 24 hours … I know, that is cheeky, but if you have 24 hours wait, the option to download every 2 driver & # 39; s is reopened. All paid subscriptions are for 1 pc only … so the prices are $ 10.39 / year, $ 8.95 / month, $ 14.51 / 2 years and a $ 29.80 life plan are all available at DriverMax These are just a few of the many driver downloaders available on the internet. While it ultimately comes down to personal preferences for these & # 39; s, they all beat out driver & # 39; s one by one and leave the standard device manager behind for years, right? But that's just our opinion …
If your laptop is pre-installed with the manufacturer's update software and also behaves as a device manager, then know that buying a driver downloader is a good investment.
