Use multitasking on your iPad

With Slide Over and Split View on the iPad, you can view and drag two or three apps simultaneously with text, images, links and files between open apps.

Your iPad may not be as capable as a complete computer, but it is also not slow. Just as you can juggle multiple apps on your PC, you can do the same with apps on your iPad. With the tablet's multitasking functions, you can view and work with two to three apps on the screen at the same time, allowing you to drag text, images, links and even files from one app to another.

Your iPad offers two different multitasking modes: Slide Over and Split View. With Slide Over you can view two apps on the screen with one app in a narrow window that floats on top of the other. With Split View you can display two apps on the screen in their own scalable windows. You can then add a third app, which is located in the floating pane.

If you want to multitask apps on your iPad, you need iOS 1

1 or higher. But with iPadOS 13.1 or higher you can take advantage of a few new tricks. You can now open two different web pages & # 39; s in Safari to view them simultaneously. And you can select text easier and faster in the new operating system for the iPad. Both Slide Over and Split View are supported by the iPad Pro, the 5th generation iPad and higher, the iPad Air 2 and higher and the iPad mini 4 and higher. Certain older iPads work limited with Slide Over, but not with Split View.
