First, open the Google Maps app on your Android phone or tablet. Find a location on the map that you want to see in Street View. You can tap a label or long press a street to select the place.
Then information about the location scrolls up from the bottom of the screen. Tap the Street View preview pane on the left. (You won’t see this if Street View isn’t available for the location.)
Street View will now open in full screen. To see Street View and the map from above, just tap the double arrow icon in the lower right corner.
Street View is reduced to the top half (or the left side if your phone is held in landscape mode) of the screen and the map from above appears below it. You can tap on a blue street to go to the map in Street View.
That’s all! Just tap the arrow icon again to expand Street View back to full screen.
Google Maps will remember your choice in the future, so if you leave it in split screen, it will open the next time you use Street View. It’s a simple yet handy little trick.
