View a list of restaurants you have visited in Google Maps

Google Maps is an invaluable tool for navigating with your smartphone. But did you know that Maps tracks your travels even when you’re not actively using it? This function allows you to see a continuous list of your visited restaurants.

If you use Maps while signed in to your Google account, your location history will be recorded. This slightly creepy functionality can be managed if you don̵

7;t like it, but it does give some interesting insight into your habits.

Your location history can be viewed from the “Timeline” in Google Maps. It can be organized by dates, places, cities and the world. The “Places” tab is where you can find information about which places you visit, including restaurants.

To get started, open “Google Maps” on your iPhone, iPad or Android device and tap the “Saved” tab at the bottom.

Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and tap Timeline.

We now switch to the “Places” tab.

You will find your visited places divided into a number of categories, such as ‘Shopping’ and ‘Attractions’. The one we are interested in is ‘Food and Drink’.

A chronological list of food and beverage outlets is displayed. Each location shows when you last visited it and how often you visited it.

There are a few things you can do with this information. First, you can tap the bookmark icon to save it to one of your personal lists.

Second, you can tap the three-dot menu icon next to a location to view your last visit or delete all visits.

Finally, you can tap “Select” to mark multiple locations and add or remove them from lists.

Actually, it is. Keep in mind that these results are not 100% accurate. You may see some places on the list that you haven’t visited, but you were probably close. Either way, it’s a nice little throwback to where you’ve eaten in the past.
