Built-in speakers can bother most smartphone owners. The sound from those devices is almost never loud enough and often the sound quality is just as low. However, there are many different methods to improve both your phone's sound level and quality, including apps for boosting headphone volume or even pairing solid headphones with your device instead of using more general ones.
In this article, we discuss many of those methods. It is more than likely that at least one of these ideas, or perhaps a combination of several, will help improve the volume and audio quality on your smartphone.

Always check your volume and other audio phone settings first
You will be surprised how many people who own a phone don't go to their settings to see if they can tap a slider or other controls to improve the audio. This simple move can help increase the volume. Just tap the Settings app on your phone and scroll down to the Sound & Vibration section. Tapping on that option will bring up more options, including a selection from Volume . Then you will see several sliders to control the volume for many aspects of your phone. The media slider is the one you really want to use to lower or increase the sound of audio and other media apps.
Android owners can also view some additional audio adjustments in the Sound and Vibration section of the Settings . Scroll all the way down to see the selection Sound Quality and Effects . Tapping on this will bring up the Android equalizer, with several sliders that can be used to improve the quality of your phone's audio.
Use a headphone volume booster app
There are a number of apps available on the Google Play Store that claim to increase the native volume of your smartphone. Most of these work fairly well. A favorite of ours is simply called Ultimate Volume Booster from developer Porrassoft. It increases the overall volume on your phone by as much as 40 percent.
As we said, there are many volume booster apps in the Google Play Store, and you can browse them now to see if you can find one that works on your phone. Keep in mind that increasing the volume of your phone's speakers using one of these apps has the potential to actually damage the speaker hardware in the long run so you may want to try another method or one of them. use these booster apps in small doses. Make sure your speakers have as little dust as possible
Many, if not most, smartphone owners place covers around their device to protect them . However, it is possible that some cases block some sounds coming from your phone. If that's the case, it might be a good idea to buy a new case with an opening large enough for your phone's speaker.
You can also look at cleaning the speaker grilles on your phone. There are a few effective ways to do this, such as using compressed air to easily blow particles and other objects out of the grids. An even cheaper method is to take any type of tape and stick it on the speaker grilles. Then you take the tap off the grill and hopefully a lot of dust and particles will come out of the speakers. A paintbrush can also be used to dust the speaker grill of a phone.
Finally, if you're using headphones to listen to music or your favorite podcast, consider cleaning the headphone jack (unless of course it's one of those newer phones that ditched the traditional headphone port). This is also quite easy. Just take a dry Q-tip and insert it very carefully into the socket and then remove it to clean it up.
Try better audio and music apps
There are certainly no shortages of music and audio apps in the Google Play Store. Indeed, we made a list of what we think are the best music apps available for Android users. Many of them can be installed and used to enhance the overall audio experience. Some of our recommended choices are jetAudio HD and MediaMonkey.
While the settings in Android have their own equalizer settings, as we showed earlier, there are also many other apps available for download that offer more advanced settings that enhance the audio quality of your phone even more. Keep in mind that these third party equalizer apps may or may not work with your specific phone so be careful. Some of our top picks for headphone volume booster apps are 10 Band Equalizer, Equalizer FX and Music Bass booster.
Go to a higher quality setting in your music streaming app
If you use a music streaming service such as Spotify, Apple Music , YouTube Music Premium or Amazon Music Unlimited, you may not get the best audio experience when using one of its smartphone apps. That's because many of them have the lowest quality for streaming music by default. That's usually to protect users with limited data plans.
However, if you want a headphone amplifier for those services, go to the settings section of their mobile apps. You should see sections dedicated to improving music quality over mobile networks. Change those settings to higher quality options to get the best audio experience. You can also download songs from those paid services with the highest quality so that you can listen to them without a network connection.

They're not cheap, but they increase both the volume and sound quality from your smartphone to your headphones. Some of them even connect wirelessly to your headphones. Two of our favorite portable DACs are the Chord Mojo and the Creative Sound BlasterX G5.
Connecting to a Bluetooth or smart speaker
