When it comes to viral DIYs, hacks, and crafts, TikTok is kind of the reigning champion. The newest way to go viral is what people call a “ temperature blanket, ”
What is a temperature blanket? It’s, well, a blanket – but it’s made year-round based on the outside temperature. You need to know how to crochet for this craft – but hey, we’re in a pandemic, so now’s a great time to learn a new skill – and when you do, it’s not that hard to get to this 365 -day craft to begin. To do this, you can follow instructions from online creators such as @ amy.strauch. This clever TikToker took a piece of cardboard and punched six holes in the side, then marked each perforated section with a different color that corresponded to a temperature range based on its Midwest location.

Then she tied the yarn colors to the perforated areas. The piece is essentially a guide to seeing what color of yarn you need throughout the year. Once you have decided what colors to use in your blanket, all you have to do is decide how big it will be. With the color and size smoothed out, you now know how many stitches you need to do each day to complete your temperature row. If that’s done, so are you. You can begin your general one-year journey.
Don’t worry, it’s only the first week of January so there’s plenty of time to grab your weather app and catch up.[Via Elite Daily]
