Xbox Series X Available Today: Check availability at Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, and Target

This story is part of Christmas gift guide 2020, CNET’s gift choice with expert advice, reviews and recommendations for the latest tech gifts for you and your family.

On November 10, Microsoft made its debut with the Xbox series X ($ 500) and its little brother, the Xbox series S. ($ 300). Along with the equally impressive PS5, they have been proven to be virtually impossible to come by so far. That̵

7;s a shame as the Xbox Series X is basically a gaming PC that you plug into your TV and offers near-full compatibility with the Xbox One game library, smooth 4K gaming, and the ability to pause and resume up to four titles at once . But while the inventory picture has been bleak so far, there are still some opportunities to get a console for the next few days.

While most retailers aren’t very transparent about when they expect to have units for sale, there have been a few more up front. For example, Walmart has kept customers informed via Twitter about when it will drop new inventory. We know your next chance to buy an Xbox Series X and Series S online will be Walmart tonight, Nov. 25, at 6 p.m. PT (9 p.m. ET).

That is not all. We know that too Walmart will also have some availability for the sold out Nintendo Switch Black Friday bundle today at 4 p.m. PT (7 p.m. ET).

Walmart isn’t the only seller communicating availability. Antonline does much the same, just with less notice. The retailer tweets the availability at the time of failure, directly in contact with customers and gamers. A representative from Antonline also said, “We have a strict one-per-customer policy and perform a lot of checks to get it into the hands of real gamers and not scalpers.” Here’s the store’s most recent tweet about a drop. As you can see, you probably want to follow the store to make the tweets useful:

Best Buy and GameStop are also teasing Xbox availability for Black Friday week, but with no specific details.

Unlike Sony, which has a online launch only for PS5Microsoft had stocked shelves both online and in stores. But as you scour the web and brick-and-mortar stores in search of inventory, dampen your expectations: They’re nowhere to be found, and it doesn’t look like it’s getting any better: Microsoft says so now Xbox stock could be tight until April 2021.

If you still want to try your luck, here’s a list of the main ones retailers selling the Xbox Series X. Our advice is to look for the retail price of $ 500, and avoid those expensive shopping bundles (which include external controllers, accessories, and games).

Best Buy was the last retailer to withdraw in the pre-order days of September, but is now ready for your Xbox Series X purchase if stock permits.

Amazon sells the Xbox Series X and the cheaper Series S from the same product page.

Walmart does a good job of listing availability windows for PS5 and Xbox on its Twitter feed. You may also want to visit the store’s Xbox landing page for both new consoles. To be clear, Walmart says your next chance to buy an Xbox online will be 6 p.m. PT today.

GameStop had hailed “a very limited number of Xbox Series X and S console bundles for sale,” but they are currently out of print.

This is Target’s product page for the Xbox Series X.

Here you can buy the Xbox Series X from Newegg if the retailer has stock.

If you want to get the latest Xbox Series X news, there’s probably nowhere better than Microsoft’s own Xbox Series X homepage. Here you will find the latest specifications, announced game titles, details about the new controller and more.

Are you getting desperate yet? Are you willing to pay a premium of hundreds of dollars over the list price? Listen, we wouldn’t do this and we don’t recommend that you do it. But if you want to go that path, StockX is a reputable eBay-style site that lets you buy and sell new Xbox and PS5 models – as long as you’re willing to shell out over $ 750.
