Hold your Amazon Echo close to your bed if you really need it.

When you wake up and feel drowsy and sick, the last thing you want to do is get out of bed and go to the doctor. Fortunately, if you have your Amazon Echo ($ 70 at Amazon) by your side (or even the Alexa app), you can get the diagnosis directly from your comfortable zone.

Although Alexa is not a doctor and cannot physically examine you, the Internet can use its smart devices to help you diagnose based on the condition you have described. Not to mention, you can avoid that dreaded copay and doctor's bill.

However, if you feel extremely ill or have a medical condition, you should not replace Alexa with medical care. Here's how your Amazon Echo can help you if you're not feeling your best.

Being diagnosed without visiting a doctor

If you feel sick but are not sure if it is worth a trip to the doctor, try to be diagnosed by Dr. A.I, an Alexa skill of HealthTap. Dr. A.I. was trained by more than 107,000 doctors with 141 specialties. Once you tell about the symptoms you experience, it will try to find possible medical explanations that are appropriate to your age, gender, medication and more. After diagnosis, the bone will offer to connect you with a real doctor. To turn on, open the Alexa app> Menu > Skills & Games > search for Dr. ir. A.I. > tap Enable to use . There is an option to create an account with HealthTap when you log in via the Alexa app, but this is not necessary. After you are completely done, just say "Alexa, open Dr. AI"

Note that this is not a real doctor and if your condition persists, you should visit your local healthcare provider.

Alexa can order OTC medicines for you

If you have a medical problem such as a sinusitis, headache or sore throat, you can usually get a self-care medication instead of a prescription medication. And because Amazon sells drugs such as Ibuprofen, Sudafed and DayQuil, you can ask Alexa to order for you. As long as you have Amazon Prime, you can use Prime Now to get the medicine the same day (if it is available in your area).

You must enable voice order and 1-Click order. To do this, open the Alexa app> Menu > Settings > Account settings > Voice purchases and switch between Buy by voice set to. On the same screen you can create a voice code, so that only you can make Amazon purchases with your Echo.

When you are ready to make a purchase, say something like "Alexa, I would like to buy Ibuprofen." The drug is then added to your Amazon shopping cart and you must say "Buy it now" to buy it to order.
